My two Yorkie guys sleep withe me. Falling off the bed is a risk, but not all that likely to happen. Our bed is against the wall on one side and that is where I sleep and the babies sleep with me. Once mine go to sleep they mostly stay where they are. Teek rarely moves in his sleep and Rowan rarely moves around much.

I think letting them sleep with me is a risk I am willing to take because they are not near the edge and I have not had trouble with them at night.

I sleep better with them snuggled against me and they are happier because they get to be with me.

Our 3rd Yorkie sleeps with my teenage daughter and she has not had trouble either with her sleeping on the bed.

I do realize that falling off the bed could cause injury to them. However, if I fell off the bed I could get injured as well, it doesn't mean I sleep on the floor because I might fall off the bed. Having one side by the wall helps for sure as they can sleep by me without a chance of falling.

I might put pillows or soft blankets on the floor the first few nights in case they do fall off so you can see how it works out.
