If this is a puppy, then this is *all* normal behavior and this behavior requires loving patience. That's what babies require - human or animal.

As far as scratching at the crate, if he hates the crate then I would not use it. All 4 of mine despise crates and I wouldn't even consider forcing them into a small confined crate if they hated it / scratched at it to get out. I'd instead use an x-pen.

Also, this pup can most definitely sense all your frustration and anger, so I'm sure that's contributing to his bad behavior as well.
