I think the breeder sounds as if he really does know his line as he is able to judge/evaluate the coat at such an early age - and see the difference. So to me, this is a breeder who really understands his line and its variations.
And at 2 weeks? Hah, I couldn't tell any difference at all...but maybe the breeder can...?
