Honestly it sounds like more than just itchy, scratching until bloody is pretty severe. Buster has been itchy for a year as we determine what his allergies are through trial and elimination but he has never scratched himself that raw. You are right you may be bathing them in shampoos they are allergic to. Maybe just try a milder shampoo. I found I can't use the ones with Oatmeal on Buster it just makes him scratch more. I hope the Vet visit helps.
