Default I am desperate for some good advice - fast!

Ok, here is the story. As some of you know, I purchased a puppy from a breeder, paid for him in full, named him Cosmo, and then a week before I was supposed to bring him home, the breeder called to say she had taken him in for his first shots and tests, and that he had elevated kidney levels. She was crying when she told me, as she knew that my Chanel had just died from kidney failure.

So I started looking for another dog, and this kind breeder referred me to a breeder friend of hers in Seattle. I ended up agreeing to by a brother and sister from her and I am supposed to be picking them up this Saturday. Now, the dilemma is this, I got a call from the breeder in Seattle saying that Cosmo's kidney levels were tested again today and are now perfect and that I might want to purchase Cosmo from the first breeder and the girl from the second breeder. I know that I will be scared to death that he will develop kidney issues later and I don't want to be worried about that for the rest of his life.

How common is it for puppies at 2 ½ months to have elevated kidney levels and then to have perfect levels two weeks later? I really need to know the answer to this!

I feel terrible that the first breeder is losing out on selling two puppies to me, as I had put a $300. deposit on a girl to be born later. When I mentioned this to the second breeder, she said the first one would understand, so I agreed to purchase both of them. But now she thinks I should buy Cosmo from the first breeder and buy the girl from her on Saturday.

Tat would also mean that I would have to wait until December to drive down to Arizona, because I would have to wait 30 days after the rabies shot. I do not have snow tires on my car, as I never need them, and I would be afraid of driving through BC and Idaho in December without snow tires.

Do I owe it to the first breeder to buy Cosmo from her? I want to do the right thing. But if he ends up having kidney issues alter in life, I am going to be extremely upset because I felt pressured to buy him.
