We had Mario done at the time of adoption. We believe he was just under a year when we adopted him. He came through beautifully. He was sore and I gave pain meds for the 3 days after. We restricted his movements for the full 7 days. He did have a raspy sounding bark with a mild cough from the intubation, but that was gone after a few weeks.

Oh, feel free to call the vet when the surgery is done, and before you pick them up to see how they are doing. I always do this and the vets never seem to mind, and it helps my nerves to know how they are through the day.
