Since I live in the Northeast, winters can be quite cold. When I had Yorkies that went out only for vet and kennel visits, they wore a sweater. Since Sean is trained to go outside for p&p, he wears a Fido coat. Keeps his belly warm and dry. Works great with the harness since the top is velcro. Just hook the leash to the metal loop and reclose the velcro. Before I got the Fido coat, he wore a sweater. I just poked a hole in the top and pulled the metal loop through it. BTW, there are some sales at http://www.felixandfido.com/catalog/specials.php
I was lucky to be able to get him 2 coats at a great price.

I'm not sure what I'll do when the weather gets warmer. (It will definitely be quicker to get outside without having to put on his coat or sweater.) He probably won't need anything to wear unless it's a cold night. Then he can just wear a sweater.
