I get nervous and frantic too when I have to go and can't get to the right spot. Maybe that was his problem and he didn't want to go in the house.
When Buddybear needs to go he will come and sit by me and give a little whine. If I ask him does he need to go outside to potty he will look over his right shoulder towards the kitchen as th door is past there thru the laundry room. I will say show me and off he runs so very excited.
