Piper wears sweaters for winter outings such as shopping trips and visiting friends...Sometimes I let her wear her sweater for an hour or so after we get home because she is quite comfortable and happy in it (plus I think she figures maybe I'll take her someplace else since she's all set to go!). I almost always give her a quick brush with leave-in conditioner before getting her "dressed" and matting has not been an issue (Piper has a medium length coat, I'd say..??).
