Is it ethical, or healthy if a breeder breeds two puppies such as a maltese and a yorkie, or a yorkie and a chi, etc. I'm wondering in general because there have been a lot of puppies in my area that are mixed breed.

Will there be any health problems with these mixed or crossed pups? I read that they are actually less prone to diseases?

If someone can correct me, I'd appreciate it.
