I also don't need to visit them for every single little thing....often a simple telephone call is all that is needed. My vet always returns phone calls and prescribes whatever is needed IF it is not a problem that needs a visit/exam.

You're so lucky to have that kinda vet.
My vet seems to overcharge me for everything when I see the prices on the internet or discuss this with my friends.
I hope there are more vets like yours.
