Cali will be 2 next month and she is still like that. It's actually a really big problem for us because she is so intent on ingesting everything she can that she often gets sick. When she was 5 months old my husband dropped a pill and as he was trying to pick it up she swooped in and ate it. That was quite the hefty vet bill.
I would LOVE to be able to change that trait about her. Even though we are hyper vigilant about dropping things, we do have two (messy) young kids who are not and a lot of times Cali eats things she should not (or seeks them out herself, for example she once darted in a cabinet as it opened and ate a boullion cube) and ends up with a few days of throwing up + diarrhea. It's frustrating.
