All I can offer is that the one time Maggie acted really strange it turned out to be her back. She had been very quiet and tried to hide in places she had never been before. It was clear something was wrong, but I couldn't find anything. The vet checked her all out and it seemed she was fine, then he sort of ran his hands down both sides of her, feeling her spine I think and when he got to her hips she tried to bite him. He said, "it's her back". Gave her some pills, Rimadyl I think, and she was fine the next day or two later.
My point is that if you don't touch, look, or listen to the right thing, you might miss it, but something could be wrong.
It was clear as day when he pushed the part that was hurting her. She has never before, or since, tried to nip at anybody (not counting the chewing on your hand as a puppy)
If it happens again, off to the vet you should go. |
