Are you in the business of breeding? Because if not, a veterinarian once told me it is more unnatural and disruptive for an animal who is capable of breeding, but never allowed to do so, than it is to neuter/spay that animal. I certainly hope your boyfriend's 'machismo' is not being foisted upon your little guy...! Just tossing out my 2 cents and my opinion is probably worth about that!
