I'm thinking fleas . . It is possible to have just a few. That is unless it goes untreated. You don't even need a special shampoo to do it either Dawn dish soap will kill any and all fleas. Just get him really wet and work up a good lather starting at the head and working your way down and leave it for at least 10 mins . Make sure to lather up every inch of your pup including arm pits and paws and repeat in two days.
If you see it again, just grab it and pinch it between your fingers until dead. If your pup and your yard is untreated, he will get more. You really need to keep up on flea control, it can get really bad. Last year was the first time in 13 yrs of having Yorkies that we have had an infestation. It was really bad but this year not a one. We treated the dogs and the yard !!
You may want to save yourself an unnecessary trip to the vet and do the Dawn dish soap bathing first.
