If both knees are going to have to be done at some point, our surgeon said that recovery would be better with both at one time. They can't "favor" the recovering leg. Our Gracie had the surgery over a year ago, and she has had no problems at all--well, she is still crazy, but that isn't a leg thing!
Our surgeon was board certified, but I can offer no suggestions about whether or not that was strictly necessary.
