I truly appreciate your answer, thank you so much!!! :-) I have to admit that the main reason I never wanted a boy is because I thought they all lifted their legs to pee, and I did not want markings in my house. But my breeder said that once boys are fixed, they will no longer lift their legs to pee, so I decided to take a chance. From what you have written, I now believe I am going to be so glad I did! :-) |

Not 100% of the time, I was told....but if you get them neutered around 7-8 months old, while you still see him squatting to pee, and his bone plates have reached maturity, he is good to go! I have never had one hike their leg to pee when I got them neutered right at 8 months old....if that little squirt starts to try to call himself hiking to pee, and it is CLOSE to 7-8 months, go with him and have it done!! As Barney Fife on Andy Griffth show used to say,
"NIP IT....NIP IT...NIP IT IN THE BUD!!!!"
(Just about any breeder will tell you little boys are absolutely, unequivocally devoted to you, but people think we tell them that just to sell boys, because everyone want little girls and boys are more difficult to move!..Believe me, not true...you will adore your baby boy and he will absolutely idolize you and the ground you walk on!!)
