Piper sometimes makes a 'mistake' while I'm in shower and when that happens I lower my voice and very quietly say, "Shame on you, bad dog." Then ignore her while I clean the spot. But every dang time I finish and look at her ridiculously cute little "hang-dog" expression. I quickly go to her and smooch on her and tell her she's more important than any dang carpet and everything is ok----AND I END UP APOLOGIZING TO HER! Adorable Defense is right!! Just a note, Piper continues to improve with housebreaking--accidents are becoming fewer and far between and I am very proud of my little girl--but it is a process and her thank goodness her cuteness keeps both her and me on the happy side of little problems!
