Poor King. I understand is frustrating when you cannot pinpoint what could possibly be wrong.

Is he sleeping when he makes these unusual sounds, or wide awake?

When my Max became very needy and was behaving unusually, I discovered he had a corneal eye ulcer. His first one was difficult to detect because he didn't have any redness and he wasn't holding his eye closed.

Just to rule out anything eye related: any chance King puts his paw near his eye before he yelps?
