"Outside???" and that starts them to spinning in tight circles and barking, and that is a clear signal they want to go outside for a lap through the yard.....BUT, sometimes my dogs tell me fibs, and they just want to go outside for patrol, not a bathroom break, and I do not know how to stop that lying!!!! Rewarding for going potty versus no reward when they just go out and circle the yard and not go potty, makes no difference in behavior.....and I would much rather them lie and go outside for patrol, then not mention it at all and just go pee/poop on the floor/pee pad....... |
Yeah, fibbing to go & hunt. My Ruger, 8 months is potty trained really well. He goes to the back door. If we don't take him at that very moment he will pace from the back door to the front door, saying " I don't care what door we use, just take me NOW".
He will @ least twice a day fool us by sitting @ the back door. When asked "need to go out & pee " he gets excited.
But, we are out for an adventure.
Yes, we treat for potty outside. For lying, well, hum. Better luck next time.
These little " devil" are just too smart. They know how to get to us 👿 😃
