My dog is on a low fat diet and eats Hills ID Low Fat. I agree the ingredients are not what we would choose, but for some reason the food really works and keeps dogs healthy! I use mainly kibble with a tasty topper of low fat home cooked chicken breast, and he happily eats it.
There is a food called Earthborn healthy weight or some such category that has good analysis and ingredients. I once added some of that to the Hills kibble and he did well on that too.
But please do not worry about the Hills, if your dog will eat it, he will do well. Adding a little low fat topper will please you ( as it is a good pure real food!) and him
Hope the numbers return to normal on the new diet.
