 "Luxating Patella"
Sadly my Xena has to have the knee operation,she has started walking on all three's since late yesterday (Sunday) and she is very quiet - not herself. Her visit to the vet this morning confirms that we need to do the operation sooner than planned as her knee has swollen and she was in pain:-). She did walk fine with an occasional limp since 3 months and we were hoping it will fix itself - the "Luxating Patella". I had no idea that she will have this problem. Oddly her siblings and parents are fine.
I had her spayed in July this year and recovered quickly. Its sad to see her in pain. I had to do this, I did not want her offspring to suffer with the same knee problem. I think I was more sad than she was!
I will schedule her appointment this week and some leave to take care of her..vet says up to 14 days recovery time. I sure hope this operation will correct her knee problem and she can walk properly on all fours and happy again...my angel.. |
