Default Ms Maple was rushed to the ER with hypoglycemia

Against all our better judgement we feel in love with a 1.8 lb Yorkie puppy Ms Maple at a local pet store she is 10 weeks old...We got her home and she was not eating well and had a cough, our vet prescribed antibiotic for kennel cough .. Stuffy nose is partically to blame for not eating well.. About the only thing we could get down her was cottage cheese.. 3 days in she got severely hypoglycemic, the vet said she was critical and rubbed Karo syrup on her gums and we rushed to the ER.. Her glucose level was 40 .. IV dextrose and some really good vets have got her back to normal glucose levels .. She is eating and all systems are functioning normally..

We are shocked at how fast she crashed and the vet is feeding her beef baby food and science diet recovery diet every 2 hours..

She is coming home today and we are stocked up on beef baby food and some water with a little Karo syrup.. She still has a little bit of a cough and will be continuing oral antibiotics. Vets advice is to feed her frequently every 2 hrs..

Any advice on helping this little girl avoid another episode...
