Glad to hear you are thinking of getting insurance.
In my view, Trupanion and Healthy Paws are great companies. I have Trupanion with zero deductible and it pays 90% of covered costs. Very happy with them and I have used it a lot!! HP s is pretty similar but the good thing with this company is that they levy the deductible per year and not per illness. If you have zero deductible it does not matter, but if you want a lower premium and higher deductible, HP s would be a better bet. One thing with HPs is that they can raise premiums with age, but Trupanion does not. They only increase if the vets in the area charge more than normal in your area. I have only had one increase in six years.
Please look carefully at coverage.
The initial vet report you get is very important as any pre existing conditions the dog has will not be covered! That is why getting the insurance while the pup is young and disease free is essential.
You may get a discount for two pups?
Good luck.
