I do not allow anyone over to see and handle my babies until they are 12-13 weeks old...they have 2 vaccinations from a series of 3 shots in them by then.....but I would not take an unvaccinated baby out into public until it is completely vaccinated. If your breeder is doing vaccinations, the baby will be 14-16 weeks old usually by the time the 3rd vaccination is given.....and you want to wait for a week after the last shot is given before you expose that little baby to all the diseases being shed in dog parks and public areas where vaccinated as well as unvaccinated dogs roam freely. |
^^^ This is what I thought. Thank you for clarifying it.
She's 8 weeks and weighed in at 670 grams. I'm crossing my fingers hoping she hits at least 4lbs. I got my Gabby from this same breeder and that's only reason she let her come home with me before the 10-12 week point. She typically has a 10 week rule. But my breeder knows me on a personal level. However, she expressly stated that the reason she held off on the vaccine with this particular dog was because of the other dog having a reaction and Sophie is much much smaller. because of where we're moving to, I went ahead and did it anyway and just watched her closely for the rest of the day.
So 17 weeks old before she can go outside. it'll be snow covered here by then! Poor thing will have to wait till Spring to enjoy sunshine
