Oatmeal is a GRAIN, if pup has allergies using oatmeal shampoo is the worse shampoo to use. Yearssss ago I had a white poodle who needed frequent baths, oatmeal shampoo was advised to use for frequent baths, so I started using it on Cody who had been scratching at himself, I was working on possible food allergies.I was bathing Cody once a week with a quality oatmeal shampoo, after 3 weeks he started biting at his back where the tail starts, now he had sores from the biting, off to the vet we go. Vet said not to use oatmeal shampoo, I now use Hylite shampoo you can only get this from a vet. Cody has environment allergies and is on meds, I also feed him limited ingredients dog food advised by my vet.
