Well if you were already prequalified for that range in house price, then you should be fine. I have always felt the biggest waste of money was paying rent. Now you are a home owner! Congrats!
As far as transitioning the fur butts... let them go for a walk before going in for the first time. Take them outside often. Toto is my bad boy. If he needs to go, he will just go. He doesn't tell me. So I take him outside before he needs to go. We bought a brand new home last year and he peed in several places. We found out when we ripped out the carpet to put in laminate. The reality hit me when I saw all the pee so I take him out every two hours or so.
