There are brands of dog food that specifically cater to the age, the activity level, etc of the dog that is eating it. Royal Canin is categorized as to age and needs of the individual dog (there are many brands that do this, and I have never bad mouthed any other brand of dog food). I can say I have fed RC for 30+ years with excellent results in the health of my dogs and with no distress, and I highly recommend it. (There is apparently a dentist that deals in dog food.....I dont think he likes it, but then he uses reviews/information/recommendations from the specific company he writes for and readily admits that.)
