Default When to switch to adult food?

My puppies are 6 1/2 months old and I was just wondering at what age should I switch them to adult food? The vet did not have an opinion when I asked. He said they are too thin. They are both 7 lb 6 oz. Raksha is bigger than Rowan and light as a feather to pick up, Rowan is smaller and more solid. I thought his weight was fine and hers was just light. I free feed them as I have since I brought them home in May.

I was thinking sometime around 10 months to switch them to adult food? If they are still thin should I keep them on puppy food until a year? I can feel their ribs if I push on them at all, but just picking them around the rib area I don't feel them and their back bones are not protruding when I pet them. I thought she was a little thin, but did not think Rowan was, I think he feels pretty solid. There is a big difference in how they feel for sure. She is taller and longer than him but weighs the same as him.

They eat very well and seem to love the food they are on (what they came on).
