Yea teddy needed to be potty trained as my mom is very against pee pad so we started by here's the pad by the door so he smells over in that area and when I'd catch him I'd praise him but 95% of the time he'd hide behind the couch and do his business and then chew up the pad so we quickly had to start taking him out every time we catch him sniffing he still doesn't tell us he has to go but if he wants out I rush to get him out in case
