I started rescuing in 2005 .. it was after that, maybe 2006 or 2007 when yorkies hit that AKC popularity list that I have grown to despise. I remember at the time that a friend of mine predicted just what has happened....of course there were problems then, but OMG they have multiplied AND the numbers of yorkies being dumped and/or surrendered now are unbelievable. Unless you live it, you simply could not comprehend....it is out of control. |
I don't know how someone can dump or surrender one of these beautiful, loving puppies, health problems or not. After having them for a few months, how can they stand to give them up? My babies are my heart and soul. I would be totally lost without them. I never knew how lonely and lost i was before they came into my life. They have brought me so much love, joy and laughter. I bought health insurance as soon as i got them so if there were any problems, i would be able to take care of them and get reimbursed for most of the medical bills.
