My puppy is 5 months old and he pees on the pee pad with no problem with occasional mishaps. You should have several pee pads around the house. He will have ones he pees on more and some he may not pee on at all. Slowly remove the ones he doesn't pee on. Having one pee pad will make it much harder to potty train. And make sure you put one close to where he spends time the most.
Also, praise him LOTS and give him treats everytime he goes on his pee pad!!Don't ever yell at him for peeing on the floor or pick him up in the middle of peeing. I made this mistake the first week and he would try to pee where I couldn't see because he knew I'd yell at him. There really is no other tip than to be consistent. It could take long but it really depends on the puppy.

It seems so hard at first but it's important to be consistent and patient. I hope you have fun with your little boy!!
