Owner of dead puppy fails to identify his girlfriend as the puppy killer, but admits that she threw the dog across the room the month before.
From the article:
"I'm not for sure it was her," he testified in a low, quiet voice.
Zander explained that he had dated Redmon for 3 1/2 years and that they have a daughter in common, who is now a little more than a year old.
"She's the mother of my child. Of course, I don't want to see anything bad happen to her," Zander said in response to questions from Assistant State's Attorney Scott Larson.
Zander said he also told Urbana police about an incident a month earlier between Redmon and the puppy.
"She thought I was paying more attention to the dog than her. She picked it up and threw him across the room," Zander said.
