Yes... it would be great to just be able to save for everything. It's difficult when I don't know how much the IRS will want to steal at the end of the year. It's really maddening. I keep trying to get ahead and have money saved for the future, and then I just get to start back at square one. When emergencies come up, my emergency "fund" is my credit card. I AM making more this year, and have made a massive dent in the $14k I owed since I'm making that top priority. I figure the faster I can pay that off, the less I've wasted in interest, which is better than putting money into savings. I never want credit card debt again, but that's what happens when you live near the poverty line for a few years. :-P
I'm hoping the bad days are behind me for good now, because when your dentist wants $100 for a teeth cleaning, and the vet wants $300 per pet for their teeth, and you just don't have it... and you wonder how long you can go without eating to save money to get their teeth cleaned, and you go to the vet but not the dentist...and then you get cavities and have to put more on your credit card... it's been a stressful cycle. I do my best, but usually there's some sort of choice that has to be made... It's going to be hard to save while I'm in France, since it's just as expensive as back home (sometimes worse), but I do want to find somewhere in the world where the cost of living isn't so bad, and then live there. I'm really hoping the vets will be cheaper too though. :-D I guess at least if they aren't, I'll be saving money in other areas. For now it's work work work and find this perfect place... :-)
