Hi

. I don't think anyone is categorically saying that if you work full time, it's not okay to get a dog. It's more like they're saying that if you work full time AND have a busy social life - that you really truly need to think about whether to bring a dependent life into your responsibility...which is exactly what you're doing (thinking about it) by creating this post and by being so thoughtful and attentive to your decision - I totally admire that! It's great to see people here who take adopting a dog *so* seriously...so, thank you for being introspective about all of this...it says a lot about your good character.
I do think it can be done, you just have to be mindful and learn how to balance things properly. If you go out every other Friday or so - that really is totally doable. People do work full time, have social lives, and have very happy doggies too - they just know how to balance it all and prioritize. Only *you* know whether you're ready to prioritize taking proper care of a dog at this point in your life.
