Have you tried walking him around the house and then the yard, where it is more familiar, before the big wide world outside?
He may take Gerbers chicken baby food licked from your finger to get some nutrition into him until he eats normal dog food. Perhaps a good quality canned food and then kibble? So much change for a little newbie. |
Always my "go-to meals" for times they are not eating full steam for what ever reason.
What kind of food was he eating "at home" before you took him in? I would fall back on that before you go switching his ENTIRE world up on him.....he has enough to deal with right now, if it were me, I would keep his dog food unchanged, just for some stability in his shifting world....then after he has been with you a couple months and has settled in, you can explore changing his diet around!
