You are very, very lucky your little one survived without having gone to the vet. ANY time a sting/bit results in swelling, breathing difficulties, or difficult swallowing you should head to the vet *immediately* as this could be life threatening and result in death quickly.
ALWAYS have Benadryl on hand in your doggie ER/First Aid kit - that's what you should've given her immediately. I keep both cut up pills of Benadryl and the childrens liquid Benadryl (if I have to force it in). Have the doses written down or memorized.
