Oh, yeah. You were dealing with a broker. There is good information here on YT about finding a good breeder. You want to see both parents. A good breeder may have used a stud from another breeder but the mom should be there for you to see and they should have the pedigree of the male. They the pups should not be let go at such a young age.
A broker works for a puppy mill. Mills don't want people seeing the conditions these dogs and puppies are kept in so they hire people who will sell them at their homes or sometimes they sell right out of their car! Run away!
YT has had some of the saddest stories from people who have bought from brokers or back yard breeders. Sometimes they have invested hundreds and even thousands of dollars to save their puppy's life and many times to no avail. It is sad but purebred dogs seems to be a means of big money for people who care nothing about the animals themselves. |
