It is always a good idea to look into the quality of the food you are feeding.
It is not a good idea to continually switch foods but if you find one you prefer over what you are feeding now a gradual switch is the best way to do it. Just slowly add the new food to what you are feeding now while gradually decreasing the old food and increasing the new over a period of a couple of weeks.

There is a huge difference in the quality and the manufacturing process of various pet foods so some investigation is necessary. It is good you are concerned enough to ask the question.
