My little guy (6 months old) has always been a slender little guy.
BUT - only recently I have noticed him getting only slightly heavier. OR - because his coat is a little longer, he may only appear to be a little heavier.
I would think that if you shaved to coats off all these long-haired Yorkies, you'd find a lot of slender little dogs underneath all that hair.
I wouldn't worry about it.
If he eats well and appears to be happy and healthy - you are probably all the better off with his being thin.
Even with mine being thin - the vet said, "This is the most solid little guy I have ever seen," and gave him a clean bill of health.

PS: I have a Bichon and had a PooPom - who could grow quite massive coats of hair. Then everyone would say, "Nevermind - there's nothing there! |
