Here is my story of a 9 year old Yorkie I took home with me in January. He loved me instantly. He was very quiet and wanted to be touching me at all times. It can take a dog months to fully adjust to a new home.
Teek needed a new name as he refused to answer to his old one when I brought him home. I named him Teek (an Ewok name) and he loved his new name and started coming around.
It took 5-6 weeks for him to play with a toy even once with me. He loves to play tug of war and other games with me.
You will see their personalities emerge over the next several weeks, maybe even months.
Love them. Be patient with with and you will soon have dogs that are adoring and loving to you.
