I personally have tried different flea shampoos and flea treatments for my dog. She has allergies and is very sensitive to a lot of foods and treatments including topical, some oral and other items that omit an odor. I started to look for alternative things to do for her and found the best defense for her was to give her food that was as natural and holistic as possible. After making her food she now has a better immune system that helps ward of most fleas. I also found a way to ward off the rest of the fleas by adding a few drops of Rosemary or Eucalyptus oil to her shampoo and making a final rinse of Rosemary water that I don't rinse off. This leaves her with a beautiful shinny coat at the same time as warding off those pesty fleas. You can also slice a fresh lemon and put in 1 cup of boiling water. Leave the lemon water to set over night. Apply some of the lemon water all over the dog every couple of days. I hope this helps.
