if theyve tied, duration doesnt matter, if he has actually released sperm you would see a small amount of fluid on the floor when he pulls out. If thats the case then you were most likely successful. I dont believe its a problem with the female, if she is a virgin sometimes they will be less cooperative and if the male is proven and had actually entered her I would mark the date and keep watching for signs.
Sometimes a virgin female will move about a lot thats why its important to be on the floor with them to assist if needed.
