We just went through that with our little guy. He has terrible storm anxiety and after a big storm with lots of thunder and lightning, he woke up Sunday morning refusing to eat, and vomited bile several times. His even had a few flecks of bright red blood in it. Off to the vet we went. Our vet wasn't too concerned about the blood because it was bright red. She said he probably just ruptured a few little capillaries in his stomach from heaving. But she was concerned about the vomiting, because he was already slightly dehydrated. He got a CBC, a CPL to rule out pancreatitis, a dose of sub q fluids, and some Zofran to settle his tummy and stop the vomiting. Today he is back to normal. Small dogs dehydrate very quickly, which is the dangerous part. I would head in to see the vet. Better safe than sorry.
