On the back of Frontline package it reads..... "side effects:: may experience temporary irritation at the site of application. If signs persist or become more severe within a few days of application, consult a veterinarian IMMEDIATELY" I use front line on my dog, he'll run around like a wild child, "try" to roll on his back to wipe it off, none of my dogs have had any reaction from Frontline. If I were you I would call your vet describe what the dog is doing, do you see redness or any type of irritation where you applied the Frontline.
