Have you had this pup since he was a baby? Has he done this in the past already? What did you do when he pulled this stunt before?

I love my dogs, every single one of them, more than I love some humans I encounter daily. I would do anything for any of my precious babies....but I have NO tolerance for biting. I am the pack leader and I will NOT be subjected to being challenged or bitten.

You must first know if this was as a result of pain the dog was experiencing because of something you were perhaps doing....I have had a couple of my dogs when is pain from an accident or injury, MOUTHED my hand, that is they have grabbed my hand but have NEVER clamped down on it...just grabbed it to let me know "Right there mommy, that hurts!!!!"... I will not tolerate a biting dog....that behavior must be corrected and the pup must know that will NOT happen ever again.....that would be the one time I would snatch a dog up, pin it to the ground, which is what pack leaders do, and make it absolutely clear they must NEVER do that again. If it ever happened again, I am sorry but as my momma used to say, "I will tear your butt up for that!" Absolutely will not be tolerated in this house, any dog that challenges my position as pack leader.

Thank God none of mine have ever even THOUGHT about nipping/biting me...even when mommas have babies, I have one female that does not want my help at all, but there are things we have to do with those babies....she has NEVER tried to bite me....she just forcefully pushes her head between my hand and her babies....she is a very attentive momma, and I respect her concern and I give her the space she demands, as quickly as I possibly can. But even then, I would NOT tolerate a biting dog.

I had an aunt that had a dog that had an issue with food guarding....she was bitten 3 times by this dog, for doing nothing more than putting water down next to the dogs food bowl as the dog was eating. After going to the er and having her hands and arms stitched up on 3 different occasions, the hospital er reported the dog to the Animal Control and they came and picked the dog up and euthanize it as a vicious animal. A little overkill I thought, but I guess it could have been disastrous if the dog had gotten this tiny little, aged woman down and tore her to pieces, possibly killing her. I would suggest you take steps to correct this behavior....good luck with it....what a shame this animal bites the hand that feeds it.
