 Cops
I agree with what you say Jeanie, it does seem ok these days to kill cops for no reason other than that they are cops. Yes there are the few exceptions but the large majority are doing a noble job for their communities.
If people who are stopped and treated politely and correctly by cops there should be no violence. But when the suspect is uncooperative that is when the cop has to exert his authority and the bad stuff happens.
Cops are at a big disadvantage when they approach a suspect as they have no idea what the suspect will do,or if he will resist or fight. They are sitting ducks, especially in a remote place with no back up. They must be scared too when they try and do their duty and attempt to stop crime. Especially these days when the media has helped to make cops always the bad guys.
As in all walks of life there are the few bad apples, but we cannot take it out on the good guys because of that. If this pointless killing of cops does not stop, we may be left with nobody wishing the do that job and we will live in a very lawless society with no protection. We are all very happy to trust them when we call 911 for help. So give these poor cops a break and let them do their job in safety. |
