I am so sorry about your situation. I know how hard it is to be woken up when your not ready to wake up. From what I have gone though with my girl Poochy she is 12 years old when she wants some thing she comes up with a way to get my attention. I think you are right about your boy wanting to be with you. Did he use to sleep with you before his injury? Since he is an old man and may still be in pain in his back I think he just wants more of your love. Every thing you are doing to keep him safe he does not under stand. If his routine has been to sleep with you. I think may be a vet visit would be wise to find out what they think about his crying. So sorry your kitties are having there routine messed up also.
