They get the huge rawhide bones, but they are not left unattended with that...I am right there, watching to be sure they do not get any of the rawhide chewed off...they work themselves to death, just trying to get enough mouth on the thing, to gnaw on it....but they are never left with the bone, nor are they allowed to chew until they can get that soft white thing chewed off....I watch it, they are usually right up in my lap with this thing, and the minute where they are chewing starts to get soft, I cut it off and they are back to gnawing hard areas again. I never give them any treats to eat that are made specifically for dogs...They are fed RC kibble, and when they start getting older and may not appreciate chewing, I just soften the RC kibble with warm water....lately, I added some green peas and carrots along with a little of the juice and my seniors really seem to enjoy that meal....also have added French cut green beans to their serving....they love it!
