Crate space should be about 4 inches of height from head to top of crate and only enough room on the sides to allow for sleeping. Otherwise it will be the potty, as you know. If you have a tiny, you could try to position the crate to allow the door to be open and put a pad outside of it for potty. I did this with Lacey because she could not hold her bladder for long as a puppy. You will have to use something to keep your furbaby from running loose though. I used a small table, would turn it on its side at night and therefore used it to keep Lacey in. A puppy has to go very often, I'd keep an eye on mine all the time, plus took them out after eating, play or sleeping. It is tough to start with but they do get it, with lots of attention and treats for pottying outside. Good luck
